I had actually been made aware of the Redefine patches prior to them coming out on the market and I was extremely interested in the technology used in them. I was a little bummed about the price point, but now I can see why the whole system is pricey. The four piece system is $193 while the patches are $220. To my surprise, iFabbo contacted me a few months later to try out the entire new Rodan + Fields Redefine System.
I really couldn’t believe the results. I take extremely good care of my skin, but unfortunately sun exposure eventually starts to show up no matter how careful you are especially on fair skin like mine. I took these before and after pictures 2 months ago in the before picture and two months later after using the system and applying a patch the night before in the same lighting with the same camera and without enhancement. Please note that these are the opposite eyes. As you can see, redness and discoloration were reduced, as well as, the appearance of sunspots, fine lines, and my upper eyelid was even lifted. Also, the area beneath my eye is fuller. Here’s what I thought of each product:
Daily Cleansing Mask
The one issue I had with this cleanser is that you are supposed to let it dry first and then gently rub it in which isn’t ideal when you are trying to maintain a quick routine. However, I felt that this cleanser did an exceptional job of cleansing my skin without stripping essential oils and leaving my skin feeling dry. It left my skin feeling smooth and hydrated and gave it a fresh, clean feel every time I washed it. Plus, it was kind of like doing a mini-mask everyday.
Pore Minimizing Toner
What I really liked about this toner is that it wasn’t super strong like other astringents and didn’t feel like it had a ton of drying ingredients like alcohol. I felt that it did a great job of exfoliating and cleaning my skin without burning or irritating it and unlike with other toners I have tried my skin didn’t feel super tight or wind up being dried out after I used it.
Triple Defense Treatment and Overnight Defense Cream
These are both marked as step three in the system and although they are marked as different creams, they seemed to me as though they were similar. In fact, the jars look identical other than the top of one being marked “PM”. The 3 steps and differentiation in creams makes it very easy to stick with a skincare routine. However, I did not really notice this as working any differently than any other moisturizer instantly, but then again, over time I did notice a huge difference.
This is probably what I was most excited to use out of the new line and with good reason. The product is set up on the patch in a cone shape for a more direct application. When you press the product in, it almost feels like the little needles of a derma roller except I can use it closer to my eye unlike with the roller. If I was going to pick one thing to restock up on from the line, it would be these because I noticed such a huge difference overnight.
